  1. Why did ABRC change its name? Arizona Baptist Retirement Centers (ABRC), also known as “Baptist Village,” recognized that our name limited those who were searching for a new home.  Having Baptist in our name implied that we were formally affiliated with a Baptist organization, or that you have to be Baptist to live here.  Because it is impossible to measure how many potential residents never called ABRC because of our name, we were missing the opportunity to minister to so many individuals who never inquired because of the word “Baptist” in our name.  So we changed our name simply to insure that we are reaching as many potential residents as possible with God’s love and provision.
  2. What was the process you used to decide on the new name? We engaged in an 18-month long process of stakeholder interviews (including board members, associates, donors, residents, and family members), coupled with extensive research and focus groups of potential residents and children of potential residents.  In the end, we wanted to insure that our new name is true to our heritage, meaningful to those we serve, and distinctive to set us apart as a faith-based organization.
  3. What does the new name really mean?  LifeStream refers to a natural flow of fresh water where neither the beginning nor the end is in sight.  We believe that growing old should not infer a loss of purpose, and that we’ve been called to insure that God’s purpose for each resident is not forgotten or wasted.  Like a continuous stream, life grows and builds as it moves forward, and our residents can engage life at whatever point in the stream that fits their individual needs and desires.  Complete Senior Living reinforces the full spectrum of senior living solutions that we offer to our residents.
  4. What else is changing?  LifeStream Complete Senior Living remains true to our founders’ inspiration and vision.  The organization has not been sold.  Our Board of Directors and our executive leadership have not changed.  Our calling from God has not changed.  Our mission to care for seniors with a compassionate heart has not changed.
